Convenient, Portable and affordable hand-held hemoglobin reader.

HemoChroma hemoglobin reader is developed for the quantitative assay of hemoglobin in human blood.

The meter has excellent accuracy and rapid assay time (~1 minute).

HemoChroma hemoglobin reader measures hemoglobin by standard Cyanmethemoglobin method. The erythrocyte membranes are disintegrated by osmotic pressure and the hemoglobin is released into the reagent solution. Then, potassium ferricyanide converts the hemoglobin iron from the ferrous to the ferric state to form methemoglobin, which then combines with potassium cyanide to form Cyanmethemoglobin. The solution is read at 540nm in a spectrophotometer to estimate the hemoglobin concentration.

Works with four AA batteries and also with AC power.

Disposable sample collectors and reagent solutions are sold separately.
